THE RECORD
The filings record doubt, missed sleep, rent, work, training, a broken nose, a concussion, and a job search. Log 009 tells the room to keep its head up. Log 022 is filed after leg day and after shoveling customers out at three-thirty in the morning. Log 041 records a broken nose, black eye, and concussion. Each returns to the same word.
In March, the traveler described the Game as individuals standing together, then as individuals acting in their own game instead of playing another's. In August, the same account offered the room dinner.
The archive does not decide whether the constant was an instruction, a promise, a shield, or a joke kept past the point of explanation.
