Classification: inhabitant. The territory's majority population. Census status: uncounted by design. You have followed this account for three years. You have seen the apartment, the breakup arc, the dog when it was new and the dog now. You checked in during the hospital week. You have never once made contact, and the account holder does not know you exist, and if you passed them on the street your body would react to a familiar person while their body registered a stranger.Participation in the territory is radically uneven, and the shape has been measured for decades: roughly ninety percent of any community reads without contributing, nine percent contributes occasionally, one percent produces nearly everything. The territory is therefore built, funded, and steered around the behavior of a small visible fraction, while its actual population stands off-record. The Lurker is not a failed participant. The Lurker is the standard inhabitant, observed honestly. What the Lurker accumulates is one-directional knowledge, and the territory has a pending entry for the relation that grows from it. What the Lurker loses is harder to record, because it is made of things that were almost said. The Drafts region holds some of it. The rest has no location.LAW. The territory counts the Lurker as audience and shows the Lurker to no one. Most of the territory's population is invisible to itself.See: THE PARASOCIAL BOND (relations, entry pending). THE DRAFTS (terrain, entry 10). THE CREATOR (inhabitants, entry pending).
